Open Adoption

The counselors in the open adoption process are wonderful people dealing with very stressed people, prospective parents and possible birth mothers, in ridiculously emotional situations. The process itself is a bureaucratic mine-field. The image below is our birth-mother letter, sent out to (or shown to) prospective birth mothers in the hope they will pick our family to place their tiny treasure.
You may notice if you examine the meta-data that this is Version 13 of the letter. Thirteen iterations, back and forth with the adoption counselor.
